Hi I'm Gemma of Boogie Bumps.
I am a mum of two children, I have a daughter who is 11 years old and a son aged 5.
I'm a firm believer of the benefits of dance fitness in pregnancy based on my experience in my two pregnancies and hope to use my experience to help other mummies.
When I was pregnant with my oldest child I was told by everyone to rest. Not having the knowledge I do now I took the advice literally and rested pretty much the whole 9 months. I found it to be a lonely experience. I had persistent terrible nausea, I couldn't sleep and my labour felt like a real struggle. I was in the hospital for over a day before I had her.
By the time I had my second child I was working as a Zumba instructor and teaching several classes a week. I had no nausea, I was mixing with people all the time, sleep was never an issue and my labour was only 20 mins long! Through my training I was able to make all the relevant safe adaptions to keep myself and my baby safe during my fitness classes.
I believe it was all the exercise I was doing that gave me a much better pregnancy experience, and I hope to be able to share my knowledge to help mum's to feel great!

So I decided to use my experience and training to make Boogie Bumps to help other mummies on their pregnancy journey.
Classes are fun and low impact and include specific exercises to consider the health needs of pregnant and post natal mothers.
